Belgrade, Serbia's capital, attracts with the numerous testaments of its centuries-old existence. Croatian islands like Hvar and Brač are particularly alluring.
What Serbo/ Croatian film or musical artist do you recommend students watch or listen to?
There are several films and bands that I consider worth watching and listening. Films: 'Sjećaš li se Dolly Bell?,' 'Otac na sluzbenom putu,' 'Ko to tamo peva,' 'Okupacija u 26 slika,' 'Cigani lete u nebo.' Music bands: Bajaga i Instruktori, Film, Idoli, Prljavo Kazaliste, Azra, Indeksi, Orkestar za svadbe i sahrane.
What most surprises your students about Serbo/ Croatian?
The biggest surprise that Serbo/Croatian brings is the existence of seven cases and the absence of articles. Curious about these seven mysterious cases? Please come to class.

I enjoy the enthusiasm that my students bring to class, and I respect the effort that each of them puts into learning the language.
